The NBA Playoffs First Round went almost as expected with only one “upset” as the Western Conference fifth seed Portland Trail Blazers beat the shorthanded fourth seed Los Angeles Clippers. The biggest story of the First Round was not a game winning shot or an upset, but news that reigning MVP Stephen Curry sprained his right MCL in Game 4 against the Houston Rockets. Obviously missing a player of Curry’s caliber for an extended period of time is not ideal, but the Warriors have not skipped a beat as shown in the tweet below by ESPN’s Tom Haberstroh. Curry recently mentioned that his chances of Game 3 return “pretty good”.
Warriors are +80 in 84 minutes since Steph Curry got hurt.

The Kitchen is off to a strong start to the NBA Playoff Predictions with all four of us picking at least six correct series winners along with at least two bonus points each for correctly picking the amount of games the series will need. Joe had the strongest first round going 7-for-8 and collected an impressive five bonus points. The Boston Celtics were a trendy pick for The Kitchen, but they ended up losing in seven games to the Atlanta Hawks, providing a series loss to each of us.
